On October 10, 2026, Mrs. Chathathai Suwanmalai, Acting Head of the Internal Audit Unit at Walailak University, attended the University Council Policy Brainstorming Meeting (Strategic Retreat) alongside members of the University Council, executive administrators, and department heads. The event was held at the Khanom Sunrise Resort & Hotel Conference Room in Khanom District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
The Strategic Retreat aimed to review past operational performance and collaboratively draft the Walailak University Strategic Development Plan (2028–2032). This 5-year roadmap serves as a vital framework for steering the university toward academic excellence, cutting-edge research, innovative educational standards, and modern organizational management—paving the way to position Walailak University as a world-class institution on a sustainable path.
During the workshop, Mrs. Chathathai actively contributed to Strategic Group 4: “Organizational Transformation for the Future.” She presented strategic insights on improving governance structures, internal control systems, and risk management frameworks to ensure alignment with international standards.
Her proposals highlighted the Internal Audit Unit’s evolving role as a strategic partner. The focus remains on enhancing organizational agility, streamlining redundant processes, boosting transparency, and reinforcing strong corporate governance. These efforts aim to optimize internal operations across all faculties and departments, enabling Walailak University to achieve its long-term vision efficiently and transparently.
